Insurance Trust Holds 47th Annual Meeting (4.16.2010)

The 47th Annual Meeting of Insurance Trust was held on Friday, April 16, 2010, at Senator Inn in Augusta. Credit union representatives from throughout Maine were given an update on the financial condition of Insurance Trust. 

David Baird, President/Treasurer, provided an overview of activities that took place in 2009 as Insurance Trust responded to the changing financial services, insurance and overall business environment.

Delegates and guests were treated to a speech by Carrie Wess, an Equestrian Special Olympian, after which Sidney Wilder, Chairman of the Social Responsibility Committee, presented a check for $49,000.00 to Phil Geelhoed of Special Olympics Maine. This donation represented the fundraising efforts of Maine credit union employees, volunteers and members over the last nine months. Sid went on to recognize the highest fundraising credit union and presented the Caring and Sharing award to Saco Valley Credit Union. The Sandra A. Doucette Social Responsibility Award for outstanding service, volunteerism and support of Special Olympics Maine was presented to Kelly LaBrecque of Saco Valley CU.

Philip Bergeron, CEO of Gardiner FCU, was re-elected as a Trustee-at-Large to the Board of Trustees for a three-year term.
